LOU Piccone’s service to the community as a philanthropist and businessman has been celebrated with the naming of The Outlook parkland in his honour.

The $500,000 playground set in about 10ha of green space developed by Fortress, was officially opened last weekend by Mayor Bob Manning.

More than 150 invited guests turned out to celebrate the occasion.

The facility befits the standing of a true son of North Queensland – Lou Piccone.

The playground is nestled within remnant rainforest which naturally shades the play space.

It boasts the comfort of a generous gazebo inclusive of a table and benches with pram friendly access from the street.

Amenities include a 7m high rope climbing frame complete with tunnel slide, learn-to-ride trike circuit, single and multiple passenger swings, sand pit, drinking fountain and a kick and catch lawn alongside of an established forested creek.

The park has good natural surveillance from the road and from the lots on the other side of Outlook Dr.

The Outlook last month opened the builder’s display village which includes Cougar Homes (below right) and Duce Constructions (above right).

The display village is open from 10am-4pm weekends.

For all land inquiries, the land sales office is open midday to 4pm on the weekend, and Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 4pm to 6pm.

“This is an ideal location for living the Far North Queensland dream,” said Klaus Wilde of Cougar Homes.

“We’re very excited about The Outlook and looking forward to building outstanding homes on any one of the Park, Rainforest or Infinity Outlook lots.

“We couldn’t be happier with the inquiries we are getting and the addition of the playground on top of the entry statement really sets a quality tone for the future of the estate.”

Fortress will be commencing the construction of the third release of land next month.

“Don’t panic, we still have some lots for sale,” said Gerard Obersky from One Stop Property. “When people come to see The Outlook, they are genuinely impressed.

“I encourage everyone to come and see the difference for themselves.

“Talk to our residents, they couldn’t be happier with their decision to make The Outlook their home.

“Once again, Fortress is setting the standard in Cairns for community living.”
